Our journey began in Lebanon, a place renowned for its deep-rooted history of artistry and craftsmanship, where the Shannakian family has been a cornerstone in the world of jewelry for over six decades. The Shannakian legacy in jewelry dates back to 1963, when Sarkiss Shannakian, one of Lebanon’s old  respected goldsmiths, established his workshop. His passion and eye for detail laid the foundation for what would later become a generational pursuit of excellence in jewelry making.

As part of this rich heritage, Sevag Shannakian, founder of lilandann, was born into a family where artistry and jewelry were a way of life. Growing up surrounded by master goldsmiths, Sevag discovered his natural talent for art at a young age, winning numerous medals in school for his creative abilities. However, it was at the age of 13 that Sevag made a pivotal decision—he chose to leave formal schooling and fully dedicate himself to mastering his family’s craft under the guidance of his father and uncles.

Learning the craft from the finest artisans, Sevag absorbed not just the technical skills but also the deep sense of pride and respect for the art of jewelry making. By his mid-twenties, he had already mastered the intricate techniques of jewelry . However, his passion didn’t stop at tradition.
